For this month’s book club we delved into the sci-fi thriller Hybrid Child by Mariko Ouhara. We had a great turn out and the book generated discussions about technology, nature, and the human psyche.

New JETs, alumni, and members of the Montreal Japanese community were invited to a farewell cocktail at the official residence of the Consul-General of Japan hosted by Acting Consul General of Japan in Montreal Yuji Kubo.
On August 3, 2018, Quebec and Atlantic JET Programme participants gathered together for the first time and attended Pre-Departure Orientation in Montreal to get ready for the next, big day.
On July 22 and 28, 2018, JETAA Q/A members, new JETs, and guests gathered for two Fantasia Film Festival movie screenings
On July 14 and 15 JET Programme Short-Listed Candidates and JET hopefuls gathered once more at Thomson House.
On June 22, 23 and 24, a three-day Weekend Orientation was held in Halifax for Atlantic JET Programme shortlisted and alternate candidates. Several JETAA Q/A members attended to give advice and share their experiences. In addition to several presentations, participants enjoyed a workshop on Japanese ikebana and, during one memorable evening, unwinded at a local izakaya.
